Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret level security clearance will be required within 24 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Manager - Semiconductor.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

The Senior Project Manager - Semiconductor will support a technical and business services team that provides government microelectronics lab and foundry support services.

  • Perform project role responsible for planning, cost, schedule, and continuous improvement techniques
  • Ensure that project teams comply with GDMS internal process policies and specific work instructions
  • Support new business proposal development
  • Serve as key customer interface
  • Follow industry trends and pursue technology innovation to ensure GDMS services are cost competitive and superior to industry best practices
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers’ changing business needs.
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Support GDMS culture and strategy by contributing to multiple projects / programs


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The successful candidate shall have the following:

  • Successful project execution, monitoring, reporting, and proposal development experience

  • Excellent analytical and risk management skills

  • Critical thinking and effective communication skills as well as an interest in advancing the business and their careers

  • Strong project management skills and be able to work with multi-discipline project teams including supply chain, finance, vendors, and customers
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Project, Excel, and Power Point

In addition experience/knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Semiconductor Industry Experience
  • Supply Chain management
  • PMP Certification

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with project engineering related to semiconductor fabrication, lab tooling and equipment, facilities as well as familiarity with the industry suppliers and OEMs is desired
  • Public Speaking
  • Presentation Skills

 

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computers, or equivalent

 

DRUG SCREENING:

  • The selected candidate may be subject to periodic random drug screening in accordance with contract requirements
