Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.


Job Requirements:

Five (5) years’ experience in applicable Enterprise Cloud Technology:

  • Accumulo/Hadoop
  • MongoDB
  • Map Reduce
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks in the cloud (ex. chef, puppet, Jenkins, etc.)


In addition, the ideal candidate would possess:

Five (5) years’ experience in disciplines such as:

  • System integration activities (with both new and legacy systems)
  • Installing packages in Linux and familiar with container technologies (i.e. Docker, Rocket)
  • Process execution and evaluation
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tool suite
  • Software architecture development
  • Requirements analysis
  • Selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools


Five (5) years’ experience in applicable programming languages such as:

  • Scripting in Perl or Python (preferred)
  • JAVA
  • Web Services implementation


Department of Defense TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is Required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Are you the type of person who can answer the call when a mission critical system fails and a solution was needed yesterday? If you said yes, then GDMS is looking for a Dev/Ops Engineer (on call) who possesses Enterprise Cloud Technology experience. The candidate shall provide daily and rotational on-call support across several projects interfacing with our customers and senior leadership. The Dev/Ops engineer must have a solid work ethic with background that speaks to performance success. The selected candidate shall possess excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude and most importantly the ability to pull together vital resources to collectively accomplish our mission.
