Basic Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • Experience in RF communications and EW systems design, test and verification
  • Hands on experience with developing, integrating, and/or fielding SIGINT/EW systems
  • Hands on experience with developing requirements and designing an RF Front end system from the apertures through to the input to the digital signal processing subsystem

Additional, the candidate will have working knowledge of:

  • Communication system architectures, capabilities and constraints/limitations
  • Design and development experience with EW/SIGINT systems
  • DF Processing techniques and implementation strategies
  • Up/down Converters
  • Tuners, Receivers, Transmitters
  • RF Distribution and Conditioning (e.g. band and notch filtering, etc.)
  • Cascade/Path Loss analysis and solutions
  • RF Power amplifiers
  • Knowledge of advanced antenna technologies and performance with the ability to model antenna impacts on received and transmitted signals

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.


Clearance Requirements:

The position requires a current Department of Defense TS/SCI.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior RF Systems Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
The Senior RF Systems Engineer will support the Electronic Warfare (EW) and Information Operations (IO) pursuits and program execution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with the business capture team in the RF subsystem assessment, concept/design development to include modeling and proposal preparation of a shipboard EW system.


The candidate will work as part of the capture team to:

  • Collect and analyze Customer RF requirements. This includes preparation and delivery of customer briefings and capability demonstrations.
  • Perform system engineering tasks including managing of RF requirements, developing operational concepts, performing RF architecture trade studies, originating RF design concepts, and validating RF assembly and subsystem integration and test. This includes analysis and simulation / modeling of RF performance given legacy apertures.
  • Support business development activities through analysis of customer and market requirements and comparison against GD-MS product lines along with other vendor products/capabilities.
  • Recommend the development of new capabilities in support of market and customer needs


**Position will require at least 25 to 50% travel.
